After delivering IFS’ UK Headquarters in Staines-upon-Thames in 2020, Area was commissioned by the client to design and deliver their new workplace in Stuttgart Germany within a mixed-use development in the city centre.
One of the key aims for this project was to reflect IFS’ new philosophy as part of their wider growth strategy. The overall concept needed to be consistent with the look and feel delivered in Staines-upon-Thames, albeit with some additional elements to reflect the personality of the local team. Set to centralise the sales and marketing teams, the new office provides a variety of work settings for focus work, meetings, collaboration and relaxation.
The client’s brief was to create a collaborative and tech-oriented space that could accommodate for future growth. Starting with a blank canvas, the Area design team worked together with the client and building architect to develop a scheme that incorporated the very best of contemporary workspace design – and aesthetic aspirations. The existing building came equipped with an advanced heat recovery system – utilising solar power through auto photovoltaic blinds to generate heat for water consumption. This theme of ‘green design’ extends throughout the environment with biophilic and natural timber elements to enhance the mood and creativity of end users, boosting health, wellbeing and productivity.
"What the Area team have achieved in such challenging times - with a Global Pandemic and Brexit thrown in for good measure - has been nothing less than inspiring. I am so grateful for their commitment and dedication. It has been an absolute pleasure working with you." Nicola Carton, Senior Director Global Facilities at IFS
