Endava’s Office Transformation by Area:
Area collaborated with 360 Workplace and Sketch Studios to transform Endava’s London office at 125 Old Broad Street. The refurbishment focused on creating a workspace that supports hybrid working, enhances flexibility, and reflects the company’s evolving brand identity.
The project introduced a vibrant breakout area as a central hub, encouraging collaboration and informal interactions. A muted colour palette and biophilic elements further integrated Endava’s updated branding into the design.
Reimagining the Workspace
The redesign began with a comprehensive change management strategy to align Endava’s needs with the evolving dynamics of hybrid working. Workshops and material sampling sessions ensured that every design choice reflected Endava’s goals of flexibility, productivity, and a cohesive brand presence.
Designing for Collaboration and Wellbeing
The new office layout addressed previous shortcomings by introducing a central breakout area for townhalls, meetings, and informal gatherings. Area also partnered with Planteria to integrate biophilic design, selecting plants and planters that complemented the overall aesthetic and added a natural, cohesive feel to the space. This enhanced the workspace's vibrancy while promoting wellbeing.
Overcoming Challenges with Innovation
To address the low ceiling height, Area removed the suspended ceiling and exposed the structure, installing acoustic rafts to balance openness with sound control. This approach created a modern industrial look while giving the office a sense of space and airiness. Cost-effective concrete finishes further enhanced the aesthetic, achieved using cement binders to create an authentic look while maintaining budget constraints. Smart lighting systems, adjusting to natural light, complemented the design, offering both energy efficiency and sustainability.
